OF TONGUES IN TREES

a site specific sound installation

5’ x 26’ x 15’

audio, bamboo, screen

Listen here for an excerpt:

The visual, physical structure of this work mimics the contours of a stringed instrument, enlarged to architectural proportion.  Spiraling around four conifers the structure makes paths and pockets to be explored.  The scent of the trees is contained and the interior provides a private respite.  A binaural sound composition is heard from the interior of the work – voices whisper fragmented vocal patterns to recite a mnemonic topology of the site.  This installation is solar powered.
