Participants listen & tune their senses to this urban watershed. QR code markers placed along the river route invite participants to use a cell phone and headphones to hear audio composed of site-specific field recordings & historical sounds, following a walking path either at their own pace or with a guided group. The 2.7-mile long Quequechan River flows from the waters of the Watuppa Ponds, through the heart of the city, into the mouth of the Taunton River at Mount Hope Bay. While sections of the Quequechan River are visible along the Rail Trail, portions run below the streets & buildings of downtown Fall River. During a guided processional walk, participants traced the length of the river, while carrying water from Watuppa Ponds to the river’s confluence at tidal Mount Hope Bay.
